Quilt As You Go King Size Carpenter Star Finished!

Carpenter Star This Baby is finally done. This my second quilt-as-you-go King carpenter star. The first time I chose to quilt the center star and ring as one piece and then add the remaining rings one at a time and quilt. This time I decided to divide the entire top into thirds and quilt. The second time is the charm! It was much much easier to quilt and there were fewer puckers to hide. Quilt as you go is not my first choice for a quilt but it is definitely doable for a quilt of this size. I chose to use it as a bedspread for my queen bed in the guest room. I’m very happy with the look.

I’ve also finalized the pattern:   QAYG Carpenter Star

  1. Hi Linda could you tell me if there is a Embroidery design for the quilting on the Carpenter Star quilt? The quilting is fantastic . Also thank you for your reply about the Land of the Free quilt.

    1. HI Suzanne

I don’t own an embroidery module for my Bernina so I can’t answer that for you. I do know that the different machines have different software designed for them so it will certainly depend on your machine. The blocks are six weeks inches finished which is a common size so I think the chances are good you could find something. Another option is to use stencils to mark the feathers. I just free motioned them onto the quilt because I really hate the time consuming process of marking. Nothing like practicing feathers with a king size quilt…every single triangle. 🙂
