Puzzle Quilt
Those of you that have followed me for awhile know I’m an avid Craftsy fan. In fact, I recently joined their unlimited program, which I highly recommend to those of you addicted to their videos, like myself. It’s allowed me to venture into other areas of interest such as cooking and photography without investing a fortune in more videos. But alas I digress…
While cruising the site I ran across a pattern called Puzzle that made use of Craftsy’s Boundless Cafe Spice Collage fabric. I was smitten. So, yep, I bought the pattern, and rather than buy the kit, I bought several of the fat quarter bundles while they were still in stock. Once I downloaded the pattern, I discovered it was a little more scrappy than I wanted. I wanted the links to be of the same fabric so that the pattern jumped out rather than get lost in the maze. After some brain strain, I discovered it was actually doable. With lots of little labels during the process and a design wall to keep me from messing it up, I began the journey, working a diagonal row at a time. I cut each fat quarter one at a time, assigned each block a location with numbers for columns and letters for rows, then labeled and set aside the pieces needed in subsequent blocks..yes I spent a lot of time biting my tongue in concentration, but it was worth it.
Now it’s waiting patiently in the to-be-quilted queue…more to follow on this one.
