2018 QuiltsQuilts

Proximity

River Rock was a fun quilt along and I absolutely love the quilt. But I sure had an abundance of leftover 10-inch squares….enough for a second quilt. What to do what to do? Several years ago I made a quilt designed by Karen Burns at Warped Spinster called Cornered. Love love love this pattern. It was a serious contender for my leftovers. I opted instead for her pattern called Proximity, another pattern using 10-inch squares. With some Anthology batik in a neutral background color, I was set to go. It’s an easy pattern and was fun to watch come together on my design wall.

When I was done piecing and ready to start quilting, I opted for a rather simple, if somewhat repetitive quilting design. And, once again, I used Isacore #0232 thread (aka “baby poop”).

I’m very happy with the finished quilt. This one is going to spend some time on my bed once I’ve finished a label for it.
