Christmas 2016 – Animal ABCs
Well goodness, it’s been forever since my last post. I find my self in a conundrum. I want to keep the site up to date with my latest quilting projects and I want to quilt. Guess which one is winning?
I gave two quilts for Christmas this year.
The first is to my grand-nephew, Levi, who celebrated his first Christmas. I don’t usually use panels for my quilt but this one was too cute to pass up. It’s called Animal ABCs and is from Windham Fabrics. I first saw this hanging at my favorite local quilt shop, Cut Up And Quilt. Love, love, love it. However….I did not notice how long it was. When I got it home and opened it, I was shocked to see the panel is 47 x 70. Way way long for a baby quilt. And of course I used Cut Up and Quilt‘s finishing kit, which included the border and binding. Added another 7 inches to length and width….ooops. Well I did it anyway. It makes one heckuva floor quilt….or toddler bed quilt. But still…..way way cute.
Can you tell me where you found this panel? I have been looking for it and can’t find it.
I originally bought it locally…at http://cutupandquilt.com. I didn’t see it in their online inventory but you might give them a call. I bought it in their shop. Good luck!
