Antique Mosaic Quilt Pattern Now Available!
If you enjoy making half-square triangle blocks, this is definitely the pattern for you….cause there’s lots and lots of them. Since the pattern uses the quick eight-at-a-time method, it goes along at a good clip. Because of the extensive seam matching, I would classify this as an intermediate level pattern….or perhaps a confident beginner if you have experience with half-square triangle blocks.
What I love about mosaic blocks is the infinite variety of patterns that can be created just by varying the color and/or arrangement of the half-square triangle units. The mosaic blocks included in this pattern are classics that have been around for decades. As traditional as the blocks are, using contemporary prints gives the quilt a sleek modern look.

For the quilting, I kept it simple. All the white background fabric was micro stippled. I really wanted the aqua and gray to pop out. I did basic straight-line stitching half an inch apart in those colors. For the border I chose do straight-line stitch triangles.
I plan to make this one again but can’t decide what color scheme to do next…gravitating towards shades of blue…..hmmmm
