A Year of Christmas – December

I actually manage to make my goal of 12 Christmas quilts this year…phew! I can now close the Christmas bin. But believe it or not I still have enough left to make more quilts. I will continue this into next year. But I won’t be doing one a month and I plan to take a break from Christmas fabric for a month or three!

My Floating Nine-patch pattern is an adaptation of other floating block patterns I’ve done this year.  I really like the effect. Although I only used 3 fabrics in each nine patch for this particular quilt, the pattern was written to use 9 different fabrics in the nine-patch center for a more scrappy effect. You can certainly add to that by making each block using different fabrics.
