Photo bombed by Chloe while I’m trying to capture pics before I wrap my sister’s quilt for Christmas. 🙂
Last night I tried to capture the sun hitting the bottom of the clouds at sunset. I failed. Clouds appear darker here. The bottom of the clouds looked like pink cotton candy and it was gorgeous.
I found myself thinking of Sunny today. Still missing my quilting buddy.
I so want to get back into quilting. I miss playing with my stash. I’m in the process of weaving yarn threads into the back of Sunshine Sampler. I can’t wait to finish this project and am committed to not giving myself deadlines on completing projects anymore. It’s just too stressful.
I miss Prescott and wish we hadn’t left. It was a much prettier prison.
Saturday at dusk as the clouds rapidly rolled in for an evening thunderstorm.
We usually only get these types of pink skies in the evening. I happened to witness this as rain clouds were growing at sunrise. It started raining shortly after I took this photo.
I finished making 12 blocks for the next All Our Quilts block exchange and have now moved that project to my UFO (unfinished objects) pile….
I, for one, am frankly tired of looking at my fabric stash on the home page and decided to play with Alien Skin’s latest version of their Snap Art plug-in for Photoshop…this is a snapshot of our house after an abundant season of rain.
I actually reorganized “the cave” a couple of months ago and finally got around to taking some pics. It is so much easier to navigate and everything is just a chair roll away. I love having my cutting board and iron in the same room now.
The bookcase contains all my quilting books and magazines…just an arm reach away for reference.
The last two days of weather have been wonderful as a hint to Spring’s impending arrival. Unfortunately, today and tomorrow we’re doing a back slide into cold weather again with a chance of some more snow. But enough about weather. I only mention it as the last two days have resulted in a killer case of spring fever for me. I spent yesterday cleaning and my brain is still spinning with more cleaning projects…First on my list…the CAVE. Here’s a peak.
Arrgh…ground hog was dead on. They’re predicting more snow for Friday. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy snow…that is before the snow plows and vehicles get to it. And here in the midwest, we haven’t gotten anywhere near the volumes the northeast has experienced this year. It’s not the snow itself and certainly not the amount I’m whining about…it’s the ugly brown stuff in stale piles all over town I can do without. We finally got rid the last batch with last weekend’s unbelievably warm weather. Here we go again…
Haven’t posted much lately as I’ve been so darn busy at the sewing machine. Got 6 more blocks to make for a block exchange and trying to work two other projects at the same time. Poor Navajo Nation remains a UFO (unfinished object).
It was 55 degrees yesterday….time for a whopping case of spring fever…but not quite time for spring cleaning…
It should be interesting to see how cleaning up the budget is handled. At one time, I thought he mentioned in one of his transparency speeches that budget items would also be noted the website.
It’s finally arrived. I’ll be spending the day trying to be productive while glued to the television! For the first time in many years, I feel hopeful about our country despite the current financial and world conditions.
Like so many, I’ve been watching the growing celebrations. Times are rough for so many right now. I’m heartened by President Obama’s determination to try to fix the wrongs. I hope everyone will have the patience to stick out during the rough road he’ll be traveling and continue to provide him the support he needs. He’s so right…it’s going to take all of us to fix this.
There’s no doubt about it. I love to read! From manuals to novels to websites, it’s a passion I can’t live without. I usually have a novel I’m listening to while I run errands in the car or do chores around the house. I love listening to novels while I’m quilting (TV distracts me too much). But the actual turning of pages is the best and my library runneth over. I have books on web design, crochet, quilting, cooking, and of course, all my favorite authors…you get the picture…they’re everywhere. I need a library addition to our home (sigh)…of course, that will have to be right next to a dedicated quilt room.
I think I’ve finally eliminated the cron errors I was getting. I’m at a loss as to which plug-in or post started this ball rolling. After several reinstalls of 2.7, I believe I’ve eliminated whatever got corrupted. Finicky bugger. I’ve uninstalled three plug-ins that I think might have been creating the issue: IntenseDebate, cforms, and Ajaxed WordPress. Not sure which (if any), but decided these plug-ins were not critical to my overall format.
cForms was redundant since comments are forwarded to me via email so that was eliminated. I still recommend it though for its formatting flexibility if you want a contact form on your blog.
I’ve spent the morning wrestling with memory errors. I had to rework my category sidebars and uninstall several plug-ins.
For those of you that downloaded instantShift’s WordPress Christmas – a free Christmas theme last month, check it out again as they’ve released an updated version with a full .psd source file. Can’t wait to play with it!
I made my first graphic (above) using Photoshop CS4. I have a lot to learn but must say I love the new panels layout over the CS3 version. The Whiteboard Modern demo font is courtesy Jay Hilgert at Bittbox.com.
Hubby got me the Adobe upgrade for Christmas…what a sweetie! I’m so jazzed but installing it on my laptop has been the installation from Hades. I haven’t had much time to play with it yet as we are also upgrading Ron’s computer (his Christmas present) and his computer is our home server so I’ll be offline for a few days. But I’ll definitely keep you posted. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
The inside has been decorated and all the presents wrapped. Now to start on the food goodies.
This is the first time in many many years that I have waiting this long to start my Christmas shopping. I normally have started before Thanksgiving with a goal of finishing by Thanksgiving. This year, maybe because of our tumultuous times, I just couldn’t seem to get started. Well, yesterday, still nursing a killer cold, I ventured out after a night of sleet, ice, snow, and….lightening and thunder (very strange), to start on my non-existent shopping list. Armed with no list, my cell phone, and my credit card I arrived at my first store to discover…I pretty much had the place to myself. The sales were awesome, the selections were awesome, and the ratio of sales clerks to me were oh….probably 50 to 1.
Off to start and finish my Christmas shopping. Wish me luck!
As I sit here writing, the snow is blowing sideways and today’s temperature is projected to be a whopping 9 degrees with negative wind chills. Oh boy….
