Blue Lagoon

My first original quilt design. A quilt-as-you go approach.

I am experimenting with my own layout design here. Army Star, Is the block used.I used the quilt-as-you-go-approach. I started in the center and worked rounds out.

It sat in my closet for months as we debated putting the house on the market for a move to Alabama.

Round 3 has been attached and I’ve pin basted it for quilting.

On a lark, I decided to do one of the rounds with a white background on the back. I wish I hadn’t.

I finally resumed work on it and finished the final border and binding.

A closer look.

This is my first original quilt design. I decided to use the-quilt-as-you-go approach. But with a twist. Instead of joining panels and/or squares with strips, I worked from the center out in rounds using the sandwich approach.  Best analogy is paper-piecing without the paper.
