Tina Fey’s wit and humor shine throughout as she covers growing up, her career, and her family. The audiobook version is wonderfully entertaining and I can’t imagine anyone but Tina narrating it–so many laugh out loud moments. I highly recommend and if you’re a Tina Fey fan, it’s a must.

Who dun-nit with a comedic twist…and second in Rosenfelt’s Andy Carpenter series. Carpenter, an irreverent wise cracking lawyer, whose dry wit makes me chuckle out loud, is tasked with saving his girl friend, Laurie, who is being framed for murder.

Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich

As with all the previous novels, this one is slapstick funny. But, for the first time, I was able to put it down for days before picking it back up to read more. I don’t know if I just wasn’t in the mood or if the plots are getting too predictable. All in all still funny but I can’t rate this one a five.

Open and Shut by David Rosenfelt

I promised myself I would go back and read some earlier novels from this series after reading Dead Center. I wasn’t disappointed. This is the first in the Andy Carpenter series and provides the background I was missing in Dead Center. I enjoyed the laugh-out-loud humor (a rarity in novels) and will continue this series as I find the time.

Dead Center by David Rosenfelt

I love the irreverent wit of Andy Carpenter, a lawyer and the main character of this novel! And the fact that he’s devoted to his golden retriever doesn’t hurt either. The plot centers around a small town in Wisconsin with a closed society whose citizens all belong to the same religion. When two teenage girls from the town are murdered, Carpenter is called in to defend a teenage boy from outside the town charged with the crime.

This is definitely not high brow fiction but I so enjoyed the witty writing and the likable characters, I’m definitely planning to read some of the earlier novels in this series.

Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich

I own and have read all thirteen books in this series. I was fully prepared to be disappointed in this latest release. I can honestly say I wasn’t. Evanovich is just a great comedic writer. Yet again I found myself laughing out loud when I envisioned some of her descriptions. The plots are simplistic and most certainly unrealistic—it’s not high brow reading! But it’s lighthearted “I Love Lucy” slapstic funny and I highly recommend the entire series.
