In early April, Loes Hogenelst became a member of AllOurQuilts.com and began sharing her story about her daughter, Nina, born in 2002 with a brain injury. We’ve put together a group of quilters to make a quilt for Nina’s birthday in June. We are currently making a variety of blocks towards that goal which will be forwarded to one of our members for completion. It’s an ambitious goal but everyone has been stepping up to the challenge. I’m trying to complete 4-6 blocks for her and will post the results of my efforts. My first block pattern is from Carol Doak’s 300 Paper Pieced Blocks. Although I am not fond of paper piecing, it’s hard to argue with the results.
