Oster 5712 Electronic 2-Tier 6.1-Quart Food Steamer

Earlier this year, I wore out my third steamer. I manage to get them to last about 3 years. So, hunting I went and this is what I found. All my previous models were the more expensive Black & Decker. They had nothing on this baby.

I love the digital timer vs the old radial dial, the bigger size, the double decking and the warm feature after the timer has gone off. It also comes with a rice cooker insert. The rice takes longer to cook in the steamer vs the stove top, but it tastes great, is cooked through evenly and no more burned to the bottom of the pan (when I forget to turn down the stove temp…ooops).

I use it several times a week and have only had it a couple of months. Time will tell if it lasts as long as my previous ones. Right now you can’t beat it for under $30.
